Junnar Taluka Shivner Shikshan Prasarak mandal, Shri Shiv Chhatrapati College, Junnar Dist- Pune has starting Human Rights Study Centre during the academic year 2012-13 under the kind guidance former principal Dr. K.D.Purane & as per the  guidelines put forwarded by 11th Plan of U.G.C. by Prof. A. S. Patil, Co-ordinator of Human Rights Study Centre and his team member in pursuit to foster the concept of Human Right Education.

Human Rights course information :-

The P. G. Diploma course will aim at making the learners acquire conceptual clarity and develop respect for Human Rights, norms and values, and make the learners sensitive to the weaker and the vulnerable sections of society. A full understanding of international standards and mechanism for realization and enforcement of rights will be promoted. It will include awareness of civil society, organizations, rights for movement and promoting human rights. The P. G. Diploma course shall be made to encourage and promote awareness of human rights among professional groups in disciplines such as medical, law, engineering, management and basic sciences. The duration of the P. G. Diploma Course is of four credits may be spread over not less than 9 months. For this purpose of UGC curriculum on Human Rights and Duties may be used as a model. This course can be offered to judges, lawyers, civil servants, political elites, teaching community and also the students.

About the course -

This course will help to broaden the concept of Human Rights Education and also to inculcate the concept of equality.

Use of the course :-

  1. The course is useful for the volunteers of NGO to increase their formal knowledge regarding Human Rights.
  2. The course is useful for the students of various streams like Law, Social science, MSW, B. Ed & MBA.
  3. Maharashtra State Human Rights commission, Mumbai proposed to have ‘Human Rights Education’ Compulsory at all Levels of Education. ( Let. Ref No. SHRC/MF/10/2010, Date-28/10/1010 with reference to this letter Government of Maharashtra also accepted the proposal of Human Rights Education in Higher Education (Letter No. Collection 2010/(388/10special-3, Higher Technical Education Department, Ministry Mumbai, Date - 16 Nov, 2010)
  4. The course is very useful for the journalists working for various newspapers and also to the students of Journalism.

    1. Appearing last year (Arts, Commerce, Science)
    2. Appering last year M.A./M.Com./M.Sc.
    3. Post graduation (M.A./M.Com./M.Sc.)
    4. Open to Advocates, political elites, civil servants, servants of police department
  2. Duration - The duration of the PGDHR Course shall before 9 months
  3. Fee details - a. Admission fee- 1000/- b. Exam fee- 200/- Total = 1200
  4. Intake capacity - 40 students
