The mission statement of Shri Shiv Chhatrapati College Junnar is at the root of the overall progress and development of the college. The institution ceaslessly takes efforts to function uniquely, innovatively and distinctively. one of the mission statements of the  college is ‘ To uplift the downtrodden backward, tribal and weaker sections.

        The College area input is basically from the rural part of Junnar Tahsil. The institute has been providing various learning courses and programmes to the girls for their empowerment  They get confidence enough to establish their own identity in the life. Due to the initiative taken by the institute the girls have started  Joining NCC to make their career in the police department, military, airforce and navey.

        The comprehensive efforts are taken to transfer from mediocre students to meritorious students. The management takes to make studetns aware of health and process of learning.

The institution was established in the year 1970 to avail the students belonging to the downtrodden, backward, tribal and weaker sections to pursue higher education in order to find development in their life. The students are able to seek education without barriers of class gender, caste, religion and economic status. The post graduate students of zoology received silver Jubilee Award by the  Savitribai Phule Pune University  Pune for standing first in all subjects of M.Sc.

        The students  are allowed to develop their academic as will as professional skills and socio- political and cultural awareness through the activities organized by N.S.S. , N.C.C., soft- skill and sports. The students from. ‘The National Service Scheme’ profoundly implemented schemes like ‘Clean and Healthy India’, and ‘National Voters Day’. In order to develope skills in indoor games the Indoor Game Hall of 8500 sq. is built on in the premises of the college. It helped the students to win Gold medal in Taykondo at Shri Lanka. Through the soft-skill the students learn many skill of working in the various fields which they need in their future life.

        With the help of the grant given by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India the college has established DNA sequencer laboratory. The University Grant commission has approved ‘college with potential for Excellence’ by offering grant to the       college. Due to the research centers in commerce and zoology many young research scholars from India and Foreign have completed their M.Phil and Ph.D. work successfully. The Solar energy plant is installed as nonconventional energy source to fulfill partial requirement of electricity.
