About The Commerce Research Centre
The Commerce Research Centre, established in 2006, is a dedicated academic unit committed to fostering research in the field of commerce, with a special focus on empowering rural students. Since its inception, the Centre has actively worked to enhance students’ research skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, laying a strong foundation for careers and higher studies in commerce and management. It conducts research in areas such as accounting, banking and finance, marketing, business economics, co-operation and rural development, and entrepreneurship. The Centre contributes to academic discourse by publishing research papers, guiding doctoral students, conducting studies, and collaborating with industry professionals to address real-world business challenges. Till date, 30 students have been awarded the Ph.D. degree, and 06 students are currently pursuing their doctoral research under the Centre. The significant contributions of Dr. J. R. Mulla, Dr. J. B. Murtadak, Dr. M. M. Jadhav, Dr. V. S. Joshi, and Dr. D. V. Ujagare have played a vital role in the development and growth of the department. Currently, Dr. S. J. In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP), the postgraduate curriculum now incorporates a strong research component, encouraging students to undertake dissertation work, interdisciplinary projects, and research-based learning.
