About Library
The college library, which began with a modest collection of 765 books at the time of its establishment in 1970 under the guidance of first founder librarian Prof. L. N. Thorat, has since evolved into a vast repository of knowledge. Today, it houses an impressive collection of 141,538 books and approximately 141,563 volumes, spanning a broad spectrum of subjects across the faculties of Arts, Commerce, Science, as well as Mental, Moral, and Social Sciences. This extensive collection serves as an invaluable academic and intellectual resource for college students, researchers, and book lovers, supporting both academic pursuits and holistic personal development. Currently, Mrs. Vandana Chavan holds the charge as the Librarian In-charge, continuing the legacy of fostering knowledge and learning.
A Hub for Academic Excellence: More than just a collection of books, the library serves as a dynamic center for study and research, fostering intellectual growth among college students. With its well-structured layout, diverse resources, and modern technological integration, it continues to play a pivotal role in shaping academic excellence.
Systematic Growth & Automation: Over five decades, the library has systematically expanded, acquiring materials through UGC/CPE grants, college funds, and generous donations. To improve accessibility and management, it operates with Smartlib Multilingual Automation, streamlining resource organization and user services.
Diverse Learning Resources: Beyond books, the library offers:
- Newspapers and Periodicals – Keeping students informed with current events and scholarly articles.
- Audio-Visual Materials and Bound Journals – Enhancing learning through multimedia resources.
