About Department Of Education
The Department of Education was established in the academic year 1970–71 with Prof. S. N. Bhalwankar as the first appointed lecturer. Currently, the department is ably led by Dr. E. D. Wajage, who continues to uphold its legacy of academic excellence and innovation in teacher education. The department offers a comprehensive curriculum encompassing Philosophy of Education, Educational Psychology, Life Skill Education, Inclusive Education, Educational Management, Curriculum Design, and ICT in Education, among other key areas. With the integration of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the department has embraced a holistic, multidisciplinary, and skill-based approach, emphasizing competency-based learning, use of digital tools, inclusive practices, and enhanced teacher training. Under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Wajage, the department is committed to fostering critical thinking, creativity, and ethical values, preparing students to address modern educational challenges and contribute positively to society.
