ABOUT THE CENTRE OF EXTRA MURAL STUDIES

Basic Information

The Centre of Extra Mural Studies of the college has been established in the year 1980. It is one of the most essential extra co-curricular Departments in the college. This center works for adult education, extension, enlightment through reaching to outreach people and help them making development at economic, social and cultural level. It aims at spreading education in the society, especially in rural areas. For achieving these aims, the centre organize various lecture series, workshops, and other educational activities, continuously. The theme of lecture series, workshops is decided and guided by the Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. Every year, several programmes are organized by the centre.

 

Aims and Objectives:

  • To organize the lecture series for senior citizen.
  • To organize workshops on empowerment of for women and tribal community in the rural area.
  • To add the recent knowledge and information about employment.

 

Activities:

A. For achieving the aims, the center has organized several programmes such as,

  1. Dr. Babasaheb Jayakar lecture series
  2. Yashawantrao Chavhan lecture series
  3. Sant Gadage Baba Jeshtha Nagarik lectures.
  4. workshops for women empowerment,
  5. workshop on betterment of tribal community
  6. Workshop on counseling

B. The Center of Extra Mural Studies has organized Dr. Babasaheb Jayakar lecture series dated 27/09/2017 to 29/09/2017 in the Academic year 2017-18.
