Department Establishment Year: 1977-78
The Department has glorious history of result in Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. Two Students of the Department stood first in University at B.A Geography Special level. The department has a tradition of good result in college every year. The alumni of the department have been working in various sectors on good position. The total built up area of the department is about 1650 sq. feet which Consists of Classroom, Practical Lab., Small Store, GIS Lab., and Cabin for the Head of the Department and Faculty Members. A Laboratory is well equipped with various Wall Maps, Toposheets, Weather Maps, Aerial Photographs, Survey Instruments, Weather instrument, GPS System, Tracing table and Departmental Library. The department had organized a Three National level conference and Seminar in the year 1992, 2012 and 2017. The conference and seminar were grand success. Keeping in view the development in Science and technology, the Department of Geography has started the Certificate Course in GIS (Geographical Information System) from 2010-2011 and MA/MSc Geography from 2012-13.
